StopSyphMN is a joint effort between the Minnesota Department of Health and the Hennepin County Public Health Clinic – Red Door Services' to address the alarming increase in Syphilis cases among gay men and other men who have sex with men. We are here to provide education, counseling, testing and treatment and to assist with partner notification around Syphilis, HIV and other Sexually Transmitted Infections.
What can you do?
1.   If you test regularly for HIV, get tested for Syphilis around the same time.
2.   If you have multiple sexual partners consider being tested every 3 months.
3.   Become a community activist by telling your friends to get tested too.
HIV and Syphilis
Currently nearly 60% of MSM diagnosed with Syphilis are also HIV-positive. It’s
important to know that if you’re HIV+ having Syphilis can complicate your HIV treatment.
If you're HIV-, Syphilis can put you at greater risk of becoming infected with HIV.
